Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.
God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.
Day 8: Sunday, May 17
Peaceful God, fill us with Your Transforming Grace that we may be instruments of Your healing peace in our divided and troubled world. Guide us to walk together as one towards reconciliation.
Day 9: Monday, May 18
God of Compassion, we pray that the inherent dignity of all people be recognized and respected as leaders around the world make important decisions impacting people’s safety and well-being.
Day 10: Tuesday, May 19
Today I pray for dialogue and understanding at a time when disinformation causes so much confusion and harm. Lead us to appeal to our hearts for compassion and reason, guiding us to rational decisions.
Day 11: Wednesday, May 20
God of Love, I pray for the transformation of those who use violence and war to enrich themselves. May the interconnectedness of all life and the intrinsic rights of all peoples and species fill their hearts and minds and influence their actions.
Day 12: Thursday, May 21
Generous God, enlighten us to collaborate towards the common good. May we be channels of Your love that respects all life, protects the marginalized among us, and speaks up for a unified nation.
Day 13: Friday, May 22
Today I pray that I see beyond myself and my individual circumstances, and to be reminded that I’m part of something bigger – a Common Home where everyone is connected.
Day 14: Saturday, May 23
Peaceful God, we pray today that You guide us to build bridges where some build walls. We pray to promote understanding where misconception exists. We pray for Your help to find hope and resilience where despair dwells.
