Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.

God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

Day 15: Sunday, May 24

Spirit of the Living God, on this Pentecost, open our hearts to Your compassion and love for all. Empower us to live as siblings with one another while celebrating our differences.

Day 16: Monday, May 25

MEMORIAL DAY (U.S.) - God of Wholeness, we pray for the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. May their selfless courage and unwavering commitment to protect our freedoms not be in vain.

Day 17: Tuesday, May 26

Today I pray for those killed, injured, or traumatized in recent attacks on houses of worship. Comfort those who live in fear. Transform the hearts of would-be attackers. Heal prejudice and hate in our communities.

Day 18: Wednesday, May 27

Holy One, we pray for all peacemakers who take bold action in service of our dear neighbors. May their witness inspire increased acts of compassion and justice, especially for the most vulnerable among us.

Day 19: Thursday, May 28

Today, I pray for leaders to reject funding for war and militarism and instead invest in the communities they were elected to serve. May we stand up and speak out to stop this immoral budget.

Day 20: Friday, May 29

God of Protection, we pray for all those living in anguish from cruel and unjust immigration enforcement tactics. Comfort those in detention centers. Strengthen families who have been separated due to detention and deportation.

Day 21: Saturday, May 30

Today I pray for an end to war, especially in Iran, Lebanon, and Sudan. Protect civilians caught in horrific violence against humanity. Enlighten leaders to turn from aggression to dialogue, resulting in lasting peace.
