God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.
Day 8: Sunday, September 13
As we celebrate the Season of Creation, we pray for a more rapid and widespread global embrace of renewable energy sources. May all life be protected from extreme heat, flooding, and sources of pollution.
Day 9: Monday, September 14
God of Protection, we pray for all who have experienced violent mass immigration arrests, resulting in terror, family separation, and economic anxiety. Safeguard Your precious people. Transform cruel and unjust policies.
Day 10: Tuesday, September 15
We pray for all children who have returned to school. May they have nutritious food, good housing, stable family structures, and strong schools to support them on their journey of learning and growing.
Day 11: Wednesday, September 16
God of Justice, we pray that voting rights are protected from unconstitutional state and federal overreach. May we honor the sacrifice of those who, throughout generations, paid the ultimate price for the right to vote.
Day 12: Thursday, September 17
All-Seeing One, You witness the everyday struggles of families laboring to feed, shelter, clothe, and keep their children healthy. We pray for policies that strengthen families and fund social services that create thriving communities.
Day 13: Friday, September 18
God of Freedom, we pray for those caught up in the mass incarceration crisis due to structural inequity, community disinvestment, and racial prejudice. Inspire equal opportunities to employment, legal protection, and education.
Day 14: Saturday, September 19
We pray for all those facing toxic exposure to chemicals, pollution, and industrial accidents. May companies work swiftly to resolve sources of pollution and offer robust healthcare and reparations to affected communities.
