100 Days of Prayer (s27): Days 36-42

Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.
God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.
Day 36: Sunday, October 11
Compassionate God, lead us to end the state-sanctioned practice of execution. Guide criminal justice reform to support and restore victims, enable repentance and transformation of the justly convicted, and enable new life after tragedy.
Day 37: Monday, October 12
God of wisdom, show our community planners and builders new paths to meet the demand for affordable housing. May we step back from the pressure to maximize profit and make choices that meet needs like housing security.
Day 38: Tuesday, October 13
Today I pray that U.S. voters are able to make their voices heard at the ballot box without obstruction or any other actions that may disenfranchise them. May every person be represented with dignity and justice.
Day 39: Wednesday, October 14
God of peace, change the hearts of those who abuse their military power and cause death, destruction and anguish across whole populations. Provide an offramp for aggressors to cease hostility and achieve a just peace.
Day 40: Thursday, October 15
Today I pray for the wisdom and willpower to move away from fossil fuels and plastics wherever possible. Help me make choices for simple living and sustainability that cares for our common home for generations to come.
Day 41: Friday, October 16
God of abundance, You have provided all that we need. Help me make choices that prevent food deserts and encourage food security so that no communities face hunger. Enable me to share Your abundance.
Day 42: Saturday, October 17
Today I pray for those who are feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or alone, that they may find comfort, hope, and peace. May we be a source of compassion and encouragement to those around us, bringing God’s love to the world.
