100 Days of Prayer (s27): Days 1-7

God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

Day 1: Sunday, September 6

God of Life, stir in us a calling to care for creation – to protect land, water and air. May we work together to defend the lives of all living beings, including the tiny critters and the gigantic mammals in the oceans.

Day 2: Monday, September 7

Today I pray that elected leaders feel called to shape and support policies that provide access to food, make affordable health care available for all, and welcome the dear neighbor instead of terrorizing them.

Day 3: Tuesday, September 8

God of Compassion, may our hearts be touched by the suffering from hunger, violence, and environmental degradation. We pray for collaboration among global leaders to prioritize the well-being of their people, not corporate interests.

Day 4: Wednesday, September 9

Today I pray we hold candidates accountable in this upcoming election. May we be sufficiently informed to vote for leaders who will ensure everyone has what they need to thrive.

Day 5: Thursday, September 10

God of Justice, may migrant families be protected, their given right to seek safety from persecution be honored, and may they be welcomed and supported in both our nation and in other parts of the world.

Day 6: Friday, September 11

God of Mercy, inspire us all to work together towards a compassionate nation that shows kindness towards the dear neighbor and offers resources for those in need to flourish.

Day 7: Saturday, September 12

Today I pray that all war and violence be banished from the face of the earth. May hearts be transformed and all be empowered to support a culture of unity, collaboration, and welcome.
