Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.
God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.
Day 64: Sunday, July 12
God of peace, I ask You to transform the hearts of national leaders who utilize war and violence for power over others. Swiftly bring a just and lasting peace to war zones like Ukraine and Iran. Bring healing, recovery and forgiveness.
Day 65: Monday, July 13
Today I pray for masked members of white-supremacist groups. May they repent from their racist views and actions. Open their minds and hearts to embrace the dignity of all brothers and sisters in our diverse society.
Day 66: Tuesday, July 14
Today I pray for widespread confidence in election integrity and rejection of messages seeking to create a narrative of doubt to suppress voters. Help voters to make their voices heard without difficulty.
Day 67: Wednesday, July 15
Beloved God, You witness the suffering of people forced to migrate because of poverty, crime, and oppression. I ask for Your wisdom to identify solutions. May it begin with courage and generosity to welcome strangers among us.
Day 68: Thursday, July 16
Today I pray for all who struggle with hunger due to rising prices and fewer assistance options. Enable me to collaborate with like-minded people to successfully remove barriers we create to the abundance You provide.
Day 69: Friday, July 17
Unifying Spirit, lead me to common ground with others by rejecting all-or-nothing extremist views. Guide all of us to let go of a win/lose approach that benefits few, and embrace cooperation and compromise for the common good.
Day 70: Saturday, July 18
Creative God, You have given us great beauty and resources to sustain us in our common home. May businesses contribute to stewardship of our shared natural resources by minimizing plastic and other pollution.
