Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.
God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.
Day 29: Sunday, June 7
Today I pray for healing and transformation from negative partisanship - the supporting of a political party out of disdain for the other. May we rediscover unity through listening, dialogue, and treating one another with dignity.
Day 30: Monday, June 8
God of creation, lead us to cooperation and stewardship to protect our precious water throughout the US southwest and other arid regions. Guide us to prevent water waste by corporate interests like data centers.
Day 31: Tuesday, June 9
Today I pray for the unhoused and the housing insecure who are a bad break away from not having shelter. Enable us to untangle complications that prevent home ownership. May we prioritize shelter for all over profits for a few.
Day 32: Wednesday, June 10
Peaceful and loving God, stand with those who are in war zones around the world like Ukraine, Lebanon, and more. Protect families who experience war brought to their doorstep by a distant decision maker.
Day 33: Thursday, June 11
God of joy, as the World Cup begins, let us celebrate our diverse heritages and unite in shared experience. Along the journey, help us stop human trafficking, and remember in prayer the disappeared in each host city.
Day 34: Friday, June 12
Holy Spirit, inspire us to move beyond fear and hate of the other, and to welcome strangers. Help us to see our abundance with gratitude and to share it freely with brothers and sisters in need.
Day 35: Saturday, June 13
Today I pray that I may identify, advocate against, and alleviate conditions causing ignorance, poverty, suffering, and oppression. Lead me to change circumstances that cause people to struggle to live life with dignity.
