100 Days of Prayer (s17): Days 78-84

Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.

God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

Day 78: Sunday, July 23

Today I pray for a stop to the war in Ukraine and restoration of people and lands that have suffered from a few decision makers seeking power. May hearts be transformed to end the destructive madness..

Day 79: Monday, July 24

God of abundance, You provide all that we need. Open my eyes that I may see how to share my abundant resources with those who may not have enough to live. Help me drop fixations of who is deserving and act generously.

Day 80: Tuesday, July 25

Today I pray for a healthy, sustainable environment in our common home. Guide me to change habits that reduce my consumption and to utilize the cost savings to benefit people and our planet.

Day 81: Wednesday, July 26

God of mercy, place your hand on the shoulder of our justice system. Grant wisdom and compassion to everyone from peace officers to appointed judges as they protect and serve and care for each of us.

Day 82: Thursday, July 27

Today I pray for my brothers and sisters who have endured appalling conditions and leave the home they know for new places filled with hope. Protect them on their journey and provide loving people to welcome and assist them.

Day 83: Friday, July 28

May Your great love flow through me and heal divisions that have been sustained through generations. Enable me to break chains of discrimination, bias and injustice. Lead me to play a part in unifying all people.

Day 84: Saturday, July 29

God, stand with people stuck behind bars only because bail is not affordable. Restore people who have plead guilty to crimes they did not commit, just so they can move on with their lives. Help us repair cracks in our justice system.
