Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.
God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.
Day 57: Sunday, July 2
God of love, help me overcome times when I unfairly judge my neighbors. Help me recall there are deeper personal stories rather than oversimplified stereotypes. Imprint my consciousness that there is no “them”, there is only “us.”
Day 58: Monday, July 3
I pray for all migrants who go missing on their journey to a safer place they can call home. May authorities support desperate people who travel long distances by sea or land to be welcomed and aided.
Day 59: Tuesday, July 4
Independence Day - On this day of celebrating independence, God of Justice, lead us all to a place of true freedom and true justice, not just for some, but for all. May the marginalized find empowerment and inclusion.
Day 60: Wednesday, July 5
Today I pray for my brothers and sisters worldwide who face a tragic humanitarian crisis at unprecedented levels due to climate crisis, hunger, violence, and war. Please lead us to find ways to intervene.
Day 61: Thursday, July 6
God of Mercy, I pray for our Indigenous brothers and sisters who continue to be harmed by those who do not value or respect their traditions and culture. Guide us in cultivating and restoring relationships built on respect and justice.
Day 62: Friday, July 7
Today I pray government leaders work together to support and invest in social programs to ensure all children have access to nutritious food, low-cost healthcare, decent education, and affordable housing.
Day 63: Saturday, July 8
Loving God, I pray that those finding new ways to reduce climate pollution will also protect the homes of wildlife, like rare plants in the desert and tortoises threatened by rising temperatures.
