100 Days of Prayer (s17): Days 64-70

Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.

God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

Day 64: Sunday, July 9

Loving God, I pray for leaders around the world who empower communities to support one another, respect other traditions and cultures, and strive to live as one family by honoring and protecting God’s creation.

Day 65: Monday, July 10

I pray for victims of gun violence, their loved ones, and all impacted communities. Guide lawmakers to pass common-sense gun policies, close loopholes, expand background checks and ban assault weapons.

Day 66: Tuesday, July 11

Peaceful Creator, heal those who suffer from the consequences of current wildfires due to climate change. May leaders become aware that climate change is real and happening now. Guide them to work together to take action.

Day 67: Wednesday, July 12

Today I pray for my brothers and sisters who are victims of discriminatory actions based on the color of their skin. Enlighten us to abandon bias, stereotypes, and unjust laws that oppress people of color.

Day 68: Thursday, July 13

Merciful God, I pray You protect the vulnerable people living in refugee camps attacked by militarized governments. May You touch the hearts of leaders to dialogue and stop violence against innocent people.

Day 69: Friday, July 14

Today I pray for all whose lives are burdened by debt and face obstacles in achieving their goals to provide for their families. May government leaders unite in finding solutions to uplift the most vulnerable among us.

Day 70: Saturday, July 15

Loving God, I pray for those impacted by the inaction of government leaders who fail to provide them with an opportunity to apply for permanent residence so that they can live without the anguish of being deported.
