100 Days of Prayer (s16): Days 10-16

Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.

God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

Day 10: Sunday, January 29

Merciful God, we pray for the victims of the recent shootings that have left their loved ones and communities in anguish. Move me to urge legislators to work toward ending gun violence in our nation.

Day 11: Monday, January 30

Today I pray for my brothers and sisters forced to flee their homelands due to persecution, poverty and violence. May our nation create fair immigration policies to allow refugees and asylum seekers to fairly apply for protection.

Day 12: Tuesday, January 31

God of Justice, we pray for our brothers and sisters experiencing homelessness in our communities, around the nation and beyond. Provide them with resources that will lead them to housing and cover their necessities.

Day 13: Wednesday, February 1

I pray today for people trapped in human trafficking situations who are victims of physical or psychological abuse, and labor exploitation. Give us the energy to engage in learning and take action.

Day 14: Thursday, February 2

Inclusive God, I pray for guidance to be an instrument of peace. Guide me to find ways to be involved. More importantly, help me to see others as my dear neighbors working towards unity and dialogue.

Day 15: Friday, February 3

Today I pray for an end to the war against the people of Ukraine and other countries around the world. Provide a safe place for my brothers and sisters suffering from hatred, war, and violence.

Day 16: Saturday, February 4

Loving God, I pray for an end to violence against Indigenous leaders around the world who are intimidated or killed for protecting their land and water resources from transnational corporations seeking finite natural resources.
