100 Days of Prayer (s18): Days 71-77

Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.

God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

Day 71: Sunday, November 12

Today I resolve to celebrate this day that You have made and to be joyful in it. I will be lifted up by Your Holy Spirit, reflecting Your overwhelming love that you have given me and every one of your creatures. Alleluia!

Day 72: Monday, November 13

God of Peace and Justice, we witness with grief the ongoing violence in Palestine and Israel and the ensuing divisions in the U.S. We pray that all injustices cease so that we may live as brothers and sisters as you intended.

Day 73: Tuesday, November 14

God of Healing, we recognize that destruction and hatred arises from unhealed wounds. We pray that nations and peoples turn to healing historical traumas and stop the cycle of violence so evident in our streets and between peoples.

Day 74: Wednesday, November 15

God of Compassion, our hearts are broken when we see our unhoused brothers and sisters living in cars or on the streets. May our heart melt so that we reach out with compassion, care and resources until everyone is healed and housed.

Day 75: Thursday, November 16

Holy Spirit, we awake each day painfully aware of the suffering of so many in our world. Instead of falling into despair and inaction, help us to see how the particular gifts and skills You gave us can meet the world’s greatest challenges.

Day 76: Friday, November 17

Bountiful God, your Earth contains enough food to sustain everyone, yet some have too much while so many go hungry. Open my eyes to take only what I need, to waste no food, and to work for policies that provide sustenance for all.

Day 77: Saturday, November 18

Encompassing Love, too many of your precious people deal with trauma and mental health challenges. Please give us the courage to be examples of love and openness, and with your Spirit, help to heal wounded minds and hearts.

Option to Take Action

Stop the Dakota Access Pipeline once and for all. This pipeline breaks a treaty with the Oceti Sakowin (Sioux Nation), endangers their water supply and the Missouri River, and will release massive CO2 when operational.
