God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.
Day 15: Sunday, September 17
Compassionate God, hear my prayer for the people of Morocco and Libya. Provide comfort in the loss of family and infrastructure. Provide resilience to recover from tragic disasters. Make a path for the world to aid them.
Day 16: Monday, September 18
Today I pray for unity in moving away from big oil, plastics and petrochemicals. I pray for innovation for affordable, accessible alternatives to easily transition away from fossil fuels. I pray for conviction to make earth-friendly choices.
Day 17: Tuesday, September 19
Loving and gracious God, open my eyes to see You in my brothers and sisters with whose political positions I steadfastly disagree. May You come first, and enable polarized arguments to transform into opportunities for unity.
Day 18: Wednesday, September 20
Today I pray for affordable pathways that serve the common good. Lead us to defeat insecurity and greed and manage our abundance so that all may have a home, food on their plate, and the care they need.
Day 19: Thursday, September 21
God of all, as we seek peace above most things, never let us justify aggression as means for obtaining it. Help us to live together with cooperation, diplomacy, respect and love.
Day 20: Friday, September 22
Today I pray for small actions of equity and justice to exponentially expand. Reveal that a little step to help a migrant brother or a sister who is unhoused can echo across society and lead to systemic change. Let me play a part in love.
Day 21: Saturday, September 23
God of abundance, every person is known to You. Share ways I can help a brother or sister in need and how to right wrongs that may cause them difficulty. Gift me with time, patience and wisdom to listen and discover how.
