Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.
God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.
Day 31: Sunday, February 19
Loving God, I pray for the thousands of victims of the Turkey/Syria earthquake. I ask that You lovingly embrace our brothers and sisters who have died and comfort those who mourn their deaths.
Day 32: Monday, February 20
Today I pray for Your creation impacted by the ongoing climate crisis. Awaken our responsibility to end practices that destroy our common home.
Day 33: Tuesday, February 21
Creator of all, inspire me to listen with an open mind, encourage me to acknowledge those who may think differently from me and lead me to accept that others can have a different opinion.
Day 34: Wednesday, February 22
Today I pray for leaders who refuse to work with others to address gun violence in their communities. May they be open to ongoing dialogue and collaboration.
Day 35: Thursday, February 23
Inclusive God, I pray for justice in my community. May you strip away division that can lead to discrimination against our brothers and sisters. May we acknowledge all brothers and sisters who cross our paths.
Day 36: Friday, February 24
Today I pray for the women and girls who are forced to spend hours each day walking to collect water. Please guide me to be a better steward of this finite resource.
Day 37: Saturday, February 25
Welcoming God, I pray that legislators collaborate to pass just immigration reform that is inclusive of essential workers, Dreamers, and all our brothers and sisters who significantly contribute to this nation’s economy.
