Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.
God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.
Day 36: Sunday, February 22
Gracious God, as we begin this holy season of Lent, we remember the call of Pope Leo to abstain from harsh words and rash judgment. Purify our hearts and our speech so that our fasting draws us closer to You.
Day 37: Monday, February 23
Merciful Lord, we lift up the people of Cuba facing economic hardship and uncertainty. Strengthen families burdened by scarcity and restrictions, and provide pathways toward stability and hope.
Day 38: Tuesday, February 24
Creator God, we pray for wisdom as decisions are made that affect our air, climate, and public health. Guard our communities from harm caused by pollution and greenhouse gases. Inspire leaders to act responsibly.
Day 39: Wednesday, February 25
God of provision, be near to families struggling with rising costs and financial instability. Grant them resilience, support, and daily sustenance. Help communities respond with generosity and solidarity.
Day 40: Thursday, February 26
Compassionate God, we continue to pray for immigrants and those currently detained. Protect them from fear and injustice, and uphold their dignity in every circumstance. Move our hearts and systems toward mercy and fairness.
Day 41: Friday, February 27
God of truth and love, in times of tension and disagreement, teach us to listen before we speak. Remove bitterness from our conversations and replace it with humility and grace. Make us instruments of peace in all aspects of our lives.
Day 42: Saturday, February 28
Faithful God, even in seasons of uncertainty, You remain our refuge and strength. Renew our hope and steady our hearts. Lead us forward with courage rooted in Your love.
