Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.
God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.
Day 92: Sunday, December 7
Restoring God, we pray for all whose health insurance premiums have spiked
and who face difficult financial decisions. May Congress work to make good
affordable health insurance available to all.
Day 93: Monday, December 8
During this holiday season, may we reflect the Creator’s love and compassion
and reach out to those who are isolated, depressed, or dealing with recent loss.
We pray for healing and wholeness for all people.
Day 94: Tuesday, December 9
We pray for all asylum seekers, some of whom face death threats in their
countries of origin. We pray for just immigration policy that does not punish all
asylum seekers because of one person’s actions.
Day 95: Wednesday, December 10
Loving Creator, we pray for those who are poised to experience increased food
insecurity because of new, misguided federal policy. May our policies work to
protect the most vulnerable among us.
Day 96: Thursday, December 11
God of Safety, we pray for the people of Sudan and all nations facing violence,
oppression, and starvation. May warring leaders turn from division and work
to ensure safety for all people.
Day 97: Friday, December 12
We pray for the safety and dignity of all farm workers who bring food to our
plates every day. We pray for just federal policy that honors their lives and
recognizes the crucial role they play to maintain food security for all in the U.S.
Day 98: Saturday, December 13
God of Wholeness, we pray for all students with disabilities. May federal
funding for educational, recreational, and therapeutic programs be maintained
in order to assure human dignity and the fullness of life for every person.
