Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.

God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

Day 29: Sunday, October 5

Loving Creator, help me to continue living out the Season of Creation principles by honoring all living beings, responding to those most affected by the climate crisis, and recognizing the interconnectedness of all Creation.

Day 30: Monday, October 6

God of comfort, we pray for all victims of gun violence. May those planning to do harm be healed emotionally. May mental health interventions and strong gun policies reduce the incidence of violent tragedies.

Day 31: Tuesday, October 7

We pray for many in our country whose healthcare insurance is at risk or who cannot afford rising premiums. May federal policy protect access to healthcare, particularly for children, the elderly, and those with health conditions.

Day 32: Wednesday, October 8

God of strength, I pray for all who are struggling with the weight of anxiety and depression. May they find help and be surrounded with light and love, and experience transformation into life-giving alternatives.

Day 33: Thursday, October 9

We pray for Sudan, whose people are suffering mass displacement, famine, and violence. We fervently pray that warring factions come together for a united, stable government that heals and strengthens all Sudanese.

Day 34: Friday, October 10

Unifying One, we pray for transformed federal policy that protects, not targets, the most vulnerable among us, and that allows all people to live in full health, strength, and joy.

Day 35: Saturday, October 11

In witnessing our country’s division, I pray that I remember that peacebuilding begins with me. May I be open and respectful to everyone, especially with those with whom I disagree, to seek common ground and healing.
