100 Days of Prayer (s19): Days 8-14

Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.

God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

Day 8: Sunday, January 28

This is the day that You have made, Holy One! May we rejoice with all of Creation, bringing Your kindness and goodness to every being that we meet.

Day 9: Monday, January 29

Compassionate One, we ask that all political discussions between candidates and voters reflect full human dignity and worth of everyone. May we see others as we see ourselves.

Day 10: Tuesday, January 30

We fervently pray that all who commit violence on behalf of a nation or peoples cease. May they be transformed to work on behalf of their peoples for shelter, food, loving community, and security.

Day 11: Wednesday, January 31

Loving Creator, we are mindful of all vulnerable persons who are forced to migrate because of violence and severe climate events. May we all lovingly work together to understand and change these conditions.

Day 12: Thursday, February 1

Holy Spirit, expand your life-giving breath to all of Creation. May we be open to Your light and be transformed in mind, body and spirit.

Day 13: Friday, February 2

Lord of Life, we pray for the full healing of nations who have undergone unspeakable tragedies. May all peoples be transformed by Your love and live in peace with their dear neighbors.

Day 14: Saturday, February 3

We lift up all dear neighbors who are elderly. May they all be treated as wisdom figures and beloveds, celebrated for the gifts they give and have given throughout their lives.
