Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.
God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.
Day 50: Sunday, June 29
Holy One, on the Sabbath Day, many are experiencing physical, mental, and emotional turmoil. Bring Your people to the well-spring of life so we may respond to the signs of the times with love and action.
Day 51: Monday, June 30
Today we pray for our immigrant communities who are under the threat of inhumane deportation and detention. Protect them from harm. Empower leaders to develop immigration policies to welcome immigrant communities.
Day 52: Tuesday, July 1
God of Strength, we pray for all peoples facing serious illness. May they have proper healthcare and treatment leading to full healing within a caring and supportive environment.
Day 53: Wednesday, July 2
Wondrous Creator, we are amazed by the intricacy of the smallest flower. Inspire all people to recognize the sacredness of all Creation, and to live simply with future generations in mind.
Day 54: Thursday, July 3
We pray fervently for an end to all hostilities, especially in Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Iran, Gaza, and South Sudan. Empower leaders to cease all violence and oppression against their people and engage in dialogue.
Day 55: Friday, July 4
On this Independence Day, we pray that U.S. leaders commit to action that will make our nation an inclusive one, protecting the most vulnerable among us, and reviving international life-saving programs, such as USAID
Day 56: Saturday, July 5
We pray for all seniors, especially those who are isolated from friends and family. We pray that loving hearts reach out to the “dear neighbor” and offer them love and hope, transforming loneliness into a sense of community.
