100 Days of Prayer (s21): Days 22-28

Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.

God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

Day 22: Sunday, September 22

Creator, this week I will center myself in Your Presence every time I am fearful, angry, or feeling self-righteous. I pray that I listen deeply to others and strive to build relationships instead of proving I’m in the right.

Day 23: Monday, September 23

Nourishing God, our hearts are broken by news and images of malnourished and starving children. I pray leaders focus on building understanding and acceptance so that all will have the fullness of life.

Day 24: Tuesday, September 24

Holy One, we pray for an end to dangerous myths that endanger whole communities. Protect vulnerable communities against vitriol and violence brought on by the perpetuation of racist tropes by political leaders.

Day 25: Wednesday, September 25

God of Healing, we pray for victims of violent acts in households, communities, and nations. May Your powerful healing strengthen them and renew their mind, body, and spirit.

Day 26: Thursday, September 26

Holy Creator, may we truly understand the words of Jesus of Nazareth, “love your enemy.” May our minds and hearts be transformed to love our “enemy” who is actually our sibling in the family of God.

Day 27: Friday, September 27

We pray for all healthcare workers whose love and care for others positively impact our world. May they be blessed with continual strength, energy and joy, bringing healing and peace to all they treat.

Day 28: Saturday, September 28

Holy One, enable me to see Your movement in my life and in the lives of my brothers and sisters. Let this recognition draw us together to offer a hand up for people with immediate needs, and to address long term systemic inequities.
