100 Days of Prayer (s20): Days 29-35

Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.

God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

Day 29: Sunday, June 9

Eternal God, may people everywhere, especially women and children, find refuge from war, violence, fear and hunger. Send your Spirit of Wisdom upon the leaders of nations, so that conflicts are resolved with justice and mercy.

Day 30: Monday, June 10

Today I pray that public officials make it a priority to address pressing environmental issues with an integral approach inclusive of the ecological, social, cultural, and economic dimensions of Your creation.

Day 31: Tuesday, June 11

Loving God, I pray legislators understand that in drafting new legislation that impacts us all, they take into consideration respect for all human life, nature, and biodiversity.

Day 32: Wednesday, June 12

Today I pray that we stop labeling another person as “wrong” just because they may think differently. Let us approach one another as our dear neighbor. May I understand that judging another person will only lead to discord.

Day 33: Thursday, June 13

God of creation, I pray You energize us to address the current climate crisis and instill in us the strength to respond as individuals and as a community to protect our common home.

Day 34: Friday, June 14

Today I pray we recognize that through our vote, we not only affirm our kinship with each other but acknowledge our responsibility to work as one for the common good.

Day 35: Saturday, June 15

Merciful God, today I pray for the ability to persuade people to denounce oppression everywhere. Guide me to see the good in everyone and lead me to opportunities that bring about unity.
