100 Days of Prayer (s19): Days 29-35

Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.

God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

Day 29: Sunday, February 18

Today, I commit to seeing everyone with the loving eyes by which God sees us all. I will do unto others as I would have them do unto me.

Day 30: Monday, February 19

Loving Creator, please help us recognize the unjust social structures that affect too many of our neighbors. Help us to change these structures rather than unfairly judge those affected by them.

Day 31: Tuesday, February 20

God of All, during this time of Lent, I pray for simplicity in heart and mind, clearing out obstacles to Your loving guidance on my life’s journey.

Day 32: Wednesday, February 21

Spirit of Life, transform leaders and people that strike out in violence because of historical unhealed wounds. Transform hearts of stone to ones that are healed, allowing for the cessation of bloodshed.

Day 33: Thursday, February 22

All-powerful Love, we pray for the people of Gaza who flee from aggression and whose vulnerable peoples are being killed and injured. We fervently beg for a lasting peace in which all people live in the fullness of life.

Day 34: Friday, February 23

Election seasons are full of divisiveness, mistruths and anger from candidates. May I stay centered on the Creator’s guidance and be a voice of calm, unity, and respectful communication.

Day 35: Saturday, February 24

TGod of Welcome, may we all recognize the full humanity and gifts of our brothers and sisters at the border who are fleeing extortion, violence and climate disruption. May we treat them as we would have them treat us.
